AvtoVAZ’ July car output hits record of 31,950 since March 2022

MOSCOW, Aug 2 (PRIME) -- Russia’s largest carmaker AvtoVAZ produced 31,960 Lada cars and kits in July, a record since March 2022, the company said in a statement on Wednesday.

In January–July, production of cars and car kits jumped by around 80% on the year to 160,900 units.

Sales of Lada cars in Russia almost tripled on the year to 10,323 vehicles in July thanks in part to the start of sales of the new generation of Lada Vesta cars, which rose by 20.5% on the months to 5,133.

Sales doubled on the year to 172,996 cars in January–July.

AvtoVAZ plans to ramp up production of new cars in a few coming months, and confirmed the annual plan to produce more than 400,000 cars in 2023.

In 2022, the company made 220,000 cars, including the foreign brands it assembled at the beginning of the year.
